Made from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, harvested and fermented separately. Aged two years in French oak barriques, followed by at least another two years in the bottle. A deep ruby red in colour, with highlights varying from purplish to garnet, it presents the nose with a bouquet of spices, liquorice and vanilla, as well as red fruit; great structure abounding in flavour and tannins. For pairing with prestigious meat dishes and well-aged cheeses.

How it’s made: from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, fermented and then aged two years in 225 l French oak barriques followed by two years in the bottle.
Sensory qualities: a deep ruby red in colour, with highlights varying from purplish to garnet as the wine ages. Bouquet of spices, liquorice and vanilla, red fruit. A wine of great structure, abounding in flavour and tannins, it ages well in the bottle.
Food pairings: a classic accompaniment to prestigious meat dishes, it is also perfect for sipping with a well-aged cheese. Uncork in advance and enjoy at 18°, in a large, wide glass if possible.
Label: the ancient origins of the Pecis family are evoked in this wine dedicated to an illustrious ancestor, a certain “Rosso della Pezia” who founded the house in the twelfth century. The label created by illustrator Sarolta Szulyovsky depicts the family’s coat of arms, a crenellated castle with a green tree.
