This red wine, produced in just 1764 bottles, is obtained from old mixed vineyards grown in different parcels within the Brolo of the Benedictine Monastery of San Paolo d'Argon.
Heminae celebrates the winemaking tradition of the monastery and recalls the legend of the golden bell buried by the monks in the Brolo at the time of the Napoleonic suppression in 1797.
Exposed to the south and managed entirely by hand, the vineyards develop on clayey-loamy soil in the lower part and in the upper part on calcareous-marly soil known locally as "Sass de Luna".
The fermentation with the skins takes place in an open 20 hl French oak vat and the wine subsequently matures for a year in the same vat and for a year in the bottle.
To the eye it presents a deep ruby red color, the nose opens up on notes of red fruit with light notes of spices and liquorice, with a good structure and pleasantly tannic.
Suitable for accompanying red meats, roasts, game and hard cheeses.
